Registry of Fading Wilds is a design campaign that reframes Singapore's overlooked secondary forests as living archives of natural heritage, while questioning the tensions within the "City in Nature" narrative.

Grounded in archival material, photography and anecdotal documentation, it identifies and interprets vulnerable wild spaces that persist despite urban pressures.

Through a cohesive system of branding, print editorial, and social media storytelling, the project translates ecological and cultural narratives into accessible, public-facing formats.

By reducing the perceived distance between people and these landscapes, this project
aims to serve as a bridge spotlighting these forests and fostering a more critical,
affective engagement with them at risk
of gradual erasure.

Untamed Passages

To link forests and human heritage, I explored sites where natural growth and human movement

co-create distinctive spatial openings. These wild negative spaces form organic shapes rarely found in Singapore’s highly curated parks and reserves. Adopted as the project’s central metaphor, Untamed Passages, they contrast with structured representations of nature. Shaped by informal trails and vegetation, these openings act as entry points that foster embodied understanding, marking ecological change and grounding City in Nature in lived experiences.

Creative documentation and colloboration for Registry of Fading Wilds

Both cultural and natural heritage are integral to the raw and unfiltered beauty of our wild spaces. The photos will be uploaded slowly but surely in a new website that expands on this project, by inviting creatives and public to document these places through their creative mediums or ways and combining it with data and information by on the ground NGOs and activist to form holistic narrative.
